MrMaestro - Menu

Based upon the quality of these instruments; I'll assume you are currently using either Reason; or some powerful sampler.

This song had the correct "feeling" for a menu;
Nice use of effects; and the part without the percussion was a nice pausing.

It looped nicely with a "Boom---pause---boom"
One of the bad things; was amongst other things that it was a bit repetive; nothing big.
I've done that alot myself as well.

You should have introduced perhaps another lead instrument as well.
Instead of the synth-piano.

DavidOrr responds:

Reason it is, with a smattering of Cubase. Yea with loops you want to stay away from repetition, I should have been a little more careful with that. Perhaps if I ever turn this into a full-length piece I'll add in another melody in counterpoint, I think that would work nicely.

Thanks for the review!

"Dj-Comet; Control Freak"

First Impression; He has some nice ideas going, I didn't really like the next synth you introduced; a bit because it destroyed the clarity picture; and a bit because of it being to low-fi; what synth are you using?

After a while; It got rather repetive; I believe you should have introduced more effects; and perhaps a keychange?
I also think you should have a deeper bass; as it sounded a bit thin overall.

Your breakbeats was simplistic; but fit the song just perfectly; nice job there.
You had alot of nice idea's going; if you could get the clarity a bit better; along with the picture of diversity; meaning introducing other foundational melodies.

The Ending was a normal volume drop; but worked rather effectively in this song.
Nice job at that part.
I'm rather new to this webpage; so if you could check out some of my Soundtrack/Orchestral works and leave a review; I'd be happy.

Best of wishes; Chris.

To describe it; Beautiful.

The percussionate works in the beginning worked perfectly with the harp.
I did however not quite like the guitar; as it sounded very produced; and not very real.
The flute was a nice touch; but shouldn't have been overpowered by the guitar.
The bass drum was quite good; and wasn't too dominating. Good job.
Your spiccato strings seemed a tad washed out; but the choir compensated for that.
Generally a good song.
Nice work SoulStrings.

I believe we can expect great things from you in the future.

MaestroSegments responds:

Thank you Arbiter, my percussion skills falter compared to yours, but I believe I can get somewhere if I spend more time refining myself. My next few songs are pure mastering practice :D.

Thanks for the review ^^.
